8 JUNE 2026, DAY 159 – HIT THE ROCK BOTTOM?

TODAY’s SCRIPTURE: Psalms 88-90 Chapters

DEVOTION

Have you ever felt that you hit the rock bottom?

The writer of Psalm 88 is so overwhelmed by suffering that he seems to despair life itself. Many of us have experienced seasons when everything feels dark and hopeless. The psalmist describes a situation where things seem to be going from bad to worse. Yet, despite his pain, he continues to bring everything before God.

Psalm 88 is unique because it ends without a clear answer or expression of hope. It reminds us that God welcomes our honest cries, even when we cannot see a way forward. Pain, grief, and depression often take time to heal. In those difficult moments, take your struggles to God and speak to Him honestly.

Human feelings are real, but they are not always reliable. Feelings change, but God’s Word remains true. Rather than allowing your emotions to define reality, immerse yourself in Scripture and discover what God says about your situation.

And when we bring our unfiltered thoughts and emotions to God, we give Him room to reveal areas where we need His help, comfort, and correction. No matter what your feelings are telling you, Psalm 88 teaches us to bring our whole selves before God and seek His. And his presence can bring comfort, strength, and peace in the midst of the storm.

PRAYER

Lord, I feel as though I have reached rock bottom. Everything around me seems to point toward hopelessness. Yet even in this darkness, I choose to be in your presence, draw near to me, fill me with Your presence, and remind me that You are with me. In Jesus name, Amen.
