DEVOTION
The author of Psalm 91 is not explicitly identified, though Jewish tradition often attributes it to Moses.
Psalm 91:7 (KJV) “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”
John 16:33 (KJV)
“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Neither of these verses promises a life free from trouble, pain, or suffering. Instead, they reveal the confidence and assurance that believers can have in God even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
Psalm 91 reminds us that while thousands may fall around us, our lives remain in God’s hands. Jesus also made it clear that trials are unavoidable in this world, yet He calls us to be courageous because He has already overcome the world. Consider situations like the COVID pandemic. Many were affected, and some faced seemingly impossible odds. Yet God sustained countless people through it all. Our trust is not in statistics, circumstances, or human strength, but in the sovereign God who determines our days.
God help me overcome every challenge through Your strength and grace. Whatever comes our way, God is our refuge, our protector, and our victory. Live boldly and trust Him with all your heart.
