TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Job 22-24 chapters DEVOTION
Job 23:11, 12 Even in the midst of deep suffering, when Job could not sense God’s presence, he dint walk away from Him. But he remained faithful. He declares that he did not depart from God’s commands and treasured His words more than his daily food. This reveals something powerful Job’s obedience was not based on his circumstances but on his love for God. He stayed steadfast not just in the good times, but especially in the painful ones.
As I reflected on Job’s life and imagining his pain and yet seeing his unwavering love for God brings tears. His life challenges us with an honest question that’s
Are we willing to love and obey God even in our hardest seasons?
1. STEADFAST OBEDIENCE
Job remained firm and obedient , refusing to drift away from God’s ways despite his suffering.
2. PRIORITISING GOD’S WORD
He valued God’s Word more than his daily needs, showing where his true dependence lay. God’s Word is like a GPS, it guides us step by step until we reach our destination. It is also our life manual. Just as any device works best when we follow its manual, our lives function best when we follow God’s Word. If reading a simple instruction manual can help us use something correctly, how much more essential is God’s Word for navigating life’s challenges, decisions, and uncertainties?
How Job dealt with trials?
1.Steadfast obedience rooted in love
2.Treasuring God’s Word in his heart
PRAYER
Lord, help me to love You deeply and remain obedient even in difficult times. Give me a hunger for Your Word each day, and guide me through every season of life. Amen.
