4 MAY 2026, DAY 123 – DO YOU HAVE A CLEAR CONSCIENCE?

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Job 25- 27  chapters

DEVOTION

Job 27:6 (NLT) “My conscience is clear for as long as I live.” In the midst of all accusations and suffering, Job made a powerful declaration that his conscience is clear. A clear conscience doesn’t come easily but it comes through a surrendered and intentional life.

Here’s how we can walk in it.

STEP 1

Seek God’s forgiveness

The foundation of a clear conscience is receiving God’s forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 (NLT) reminds that “If we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all wickedness.”

Are you returning to the same sins repeatedly?

Are there habits you haven’t surrendered yet?

Don’t try to hide or delay it but come to God just as you are. If possible, pause now. Close your eyes, kneel down if you can, and speak to Him with complete honesty. God is not here to condemn but ready to cleanse you.

Step 2

Live rightly before God

Forgiveness is the beginning but a clear conscience is sustained by a determined life.

Am I choosing to live in a way that pleases God? Romans 12:2 (KJV) says “And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” This means intentionally turning away from things that pull us away from God, such as Jealousy, envy, impurity, lust, Uncontrolled anger, Idolatry, negative and destructive thoughts

How do we overcome all these?

PRAYER, READING GOD’S WORD ON DAILY BASIS

II Corinthians 10:5 (KJV) says “Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” Whenever wrong thoughts arise, don’t entertain but speak God’s Word over your mind. This is how your thinking begins to change, and your conscience becomes steady and clear.
