TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Ezekiel 16-18 Chapters
DEVOTION
Ezekiel 16:59-63
God’s people had broken the covenant they had made with Him, and because of their unfaithfulness, they deserved punishment. Yet this passage reveals something beautiful about the character of God that even when we are unfaithful, He remains faithful. When God makes a promise, He does not abandon it or break it.
We may fail Him, wander away, and make choices that leave us ashamed, but our failures do not change who God is. His mercy is greater than our sin, and His faithfulness is greater than our unfaithfulness.
No matter where you are in life today, come to God as you are. When we sincerely repent and turn back to Him, He is willing to forgive and renew His covenant with us.
The covenant came in to effect after when Jesus paid it on the cross. Because of His sacrifice, forgiveness and salvation are available to everyone who turns to Him in repentance and faith.
We may feel that we deserve nothing but punishment because of our sins, but God’s arms are still stretched out toward us. There is no place so far away that His grace cannot reach, and no sin so great that His mercy cannot forgive when we truly repent and return to Him.
Today, let us not run away from God because of our failures. Instead, let us run toward Him, trusting in His unfailing love and faithfulness.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the covenant You have made with me through Jesus Christ. I come before You just as I am and lay every sin, failure, and burden at Your feet. Forgive me, cleanse me, and I truly repent of my sins. Give me the strength and wisdom not to return to my old ways. In Jesus name, Amen.
