28 AUGUST 2026, DAY 240 – THE TRUE VINE

TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Ezekiel 13-15 Chapters

DEVOTION
Ezekiel 15:2 NIV
“Son of man, how is the wood of a vine different from that of a branch from any of the trees in the forest?”

The vine is different from ordinary trees because its value is not in its wood but in the fruit it produces. Scripture uses the picture of a vine to remind us that God desires His people to be fruitful and useful for His purposes.

In the New Testament Christ Himself is the true vine, teaching that our spiritual fruitfulness comes from remaining connected to Him. A branch cannot produce fruit by itself, it must remain in the vine.

Is your life truly united with Christ?
Is your relationship with Him producing spiritual fruit?
Are there areas where God is asking you to allow Him to prune or change you?
Are you depending on Christ or trying to live in your own strength?
Apart from Him, we can do nothing.

Pruning may sometimes be uncomfortable, but God disciplines us because He wants us to become more fruitful.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for being the true Vine in my life. Help me remain deeply united with You and produce fruit that brings glory to Your name. Discipline me and strengthen my attitude so that my life may reflect Your character. Apart from You, I can do nothing.
Lord, prune me and correct every area of my life where You desire change. In Jesus name, amen.
