TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Psalms 37-39 chapters DEVOTION
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”
Psalm 37:23 (NLT)
During my college days, cold coffee was my delight. I would literally wait all day just to drink it. It may seem like such a small thing.
But think about the God who created the universe, gravitational force, black hole, galaxies, the sun, moon, and planets, the mountains, valleys, rivers, oceans, rivers, lakes, flowers, fruits, YOU and ME.
And yet, this same God delights in every detail of your life. Isn’t that amazing?
Compared to the vastness of the universe, we humans seem so small. Yet God is deeply interested in every detail of our lives. It is humbling to think about the love He has for us, a love we can never fully comprehend.
Psalm 56:8 (NLT)”You have collected all my tears in your bottle.” Luke 12:7 (NLT)”And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.”
Sometimes we wish people would notice the little things about us, but people can fail us or overlook our pain. God never does. God is interested in every little detail:
The moment you are hurt and nobody notices, HE KNOWS,
When you sit alone at school, college, or work, HE SEES YOU,
When it’s hard to take the next step, HE SEES YOU, When you feel low, abandoned, or broken, HE IS RIGHT NEXT TO YOU,
When you feel terrible about yourself, HE STILL CALLS HIS OWN.
In Genesis, Hagar felt abandoned and alone, yet God found her in her deepest pain. He comforted and gave her hope. Hagar became the first person in Scripture to give God a name, “EL ROI” The God Who Sees Me. Yes, God sees you right where you are. May you are at home, traveling, studying, or working. He is not far. He delights in every detail of your life.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for caring about every detail of my life. Your Word says that You delight in every detail, and that is such an honor. Thank You for being “El Roi” the God who sees me wherever I am. You are not only a God who sees, but a God who rescues, comforts, and restores, just as You did for Hagar. Amen.
