21 MAY 2026, DAY 140 – THE GOOD THING YOU CANNOT LACK

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalms 34-36 chapters DEVOTION

Psalm 34:10 reminds us that those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing. Yet many times we look at our lives and wonder, “Then why do I still feel empty or lacking?” This verse is not promising that we will receive everything we want. There’s knows the difference between our desires and needs. Sometimes what we call “good” may not actually be good for us, or it may not be the right time.

David is not denying hardship here. Even faithful believers experience struggles, delays, disappointments. But in every season, God remains good and faithful.

Before becoming discouraged, ask yourself:

Is this truly a need?

Is this truly good for me?

Is this the right time?

May be your answer is yes for all the above questions. Sometimes God allows us to wait so we learn that His presence is greater than our immediate desires. He wants us to depend on Him more deeply rather than only depending on material blessings.

A life that seeks God will never lack what is necessary for His purpose and our growth. God may not always give us everything we ask for, but He will always give us what is truly good and necessary in His perfect timing.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you for teaching me that you are good thing that happened to me. Thank you for making me realise that I need you more than my immediate desires met. I seek you with all my heart. Amen.
