TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Psalms 28-30 chapters DEVOTION
Sometimes life surrounds us with troubles, disappointments, and difficult people.
In those moments, what becomes your response? Do you constantly speak about the problem and complain to everyone around you, or do you turn your heart toward God?
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him.” Psalms 28:7 (AMP)
1. The Lord is my strength.
David declared that the Lord was his strength. He did not depend on his kingdom, his army, his advisers, his wealth, or his power. Instead, David found his strength in God alone. Pause and think about that again. David found strength in the LORD. Where are you finding your strength today?
2. The Lord Is My Shield.
David did not place his confidence in the soldiers who fought for him. His trust was in God, his protector and shield. Pause and answer When troubles arise, who do you run to first? Who becomes your shield in difficult seasons?
3. Complete Trust in God.
David trusted God wholeheartedly. Because God helped him, his response was praise, thanksgiving, and worship. Notice this carefully, Praise was not David’s response after everything became perfect. Praise was his response while trusting God through the battle.
A Challenge for you and me Even in the midst of pain, delays, confusion, or unfavourable situations, choose to praise God. Praise shifts our focus from the problem to the One who is greater than the problem.
REMEMBER Praise is a weapon. I took the challenge , and I encourage you to do the same. PRAYER
Lord, help me to trust You completely. Teach me to praise You even in difficult seasons and to find my strength in You alone. Amen.
