16 MAY 2026, DAY 135 – GUARD YOUR HEART AND WORDS

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalms 19-21 chapters DEVOTION

Psalms 19:14 reminds us that God not only hears our words but also sees the thoughts hidden within our hearts. Every conversation, reaction, and thought passes before Him first. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalms 19:14 (AMP)

This verse challenges us to examine our heart and words.

Are your words pleasing to God?

Are your thoughts pure, kind, and life-giving?

A helpful way to guard both our speech and our thoughts is the T.H.I.N.K. filter ( this I learnt from a book)

T – True

H – Helpful

I – Inspiring

N – Necessary

K – Kind What we continually think about shapes who we become.

If our hearts are filled with negativity, pride, anger, or worldly distractions, those things will eventually overflow through our words and actions. But when we fill our hearts with God’s Word, peace, wisdom, and grace begin to flow from us naturally. As Book of Joshua 1:8 teaches, meditate on His Word day and night. The more we dwell on His truth, the more our thoughts, words, and lives begin to reflect Him.

PRAYER

Lord, let the words of my mouth and meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight. Amen.
