TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: II chronicles 25-28 chapters
DEVOTION
Uzziah didn’t start off badly he was actually faithful for a long time. But as King Uzziah grew stronger, he crossed a boundary God had set. The issue wasn’t just burning incense, it was stepping into a role God had not given him. That means he began to trust his own authority more than God’s order.
LESSONS
1. Faithfulness in our own assignment matters more than chasing someone else’s role.
God doesn’t measure us by how much we do, but by how faithfully we do what He’s entrusted to us. Trying to take over another role, even if it looks spiritual or important can actually lead us away from obedience.
2. Pride often comes disguised as confidence. There’s nothing wrong with growing, succeeding, or gaining influence. But we shouldn’t let it get in to our heads. Uzziah’s downfall wasn’t sudden, it was gradual. That’s what makes this passage so relevant. Am I staying within what God has called me to do?
Is my confidence rooted in God, or in my own strength?
PRAYER
Lord, keep my heart humble, especially when things are going well.Amen.
