TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: II Chronicles 29-32 Chapters
DEVOTION
II Chronicles 31:5-8 The King Hezekiah reinstates the practice of tithing, which is giving tenth portions of income. The people responded immediately and generously. God’s work needs the support of God’s people. It doesn’t mean that if you don’t give, there will be nothing for His work. In fact, we can never give God anything because everything is His. We are just giving from whatever He has given us. If we see the earth, it’s full of precious metals like gold, diamond, and these days it’s copper, we humans work so hard to buy very little of it throughout our life span.
Now, do you think that God needs your money?
While sowing or giving, have this one thing in mind, that I’m giving because I love God, not out of obligation.
In II Corinthians 9:7 (NLT) says “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” Don’t be a stingy giver, but give out of a cheerful heart.
If you can tithe, well and good. But you can still give 20%, 30%, 50%… as much as you love God. Because where the money is, there the heart is.
Do you love God with the money you have?
PRAYER
Lord, I love and trust you with my money. Amen.
