TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Hosea 7-9 Chapters
DEVOTION
Hosea 7:2 NKJV
“They do not consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness; now their own deeds have surrounded them; they are before My face.”
God sees and knows everything that happens in the world. Nothing is hidden from Him.
We often think
- “Nobody is watching.”
- “Nobody will ever know.”
These thoughts can tempt us to believe that we can get away with sin. But God sees our actions, hears our words, and knows the intentions of our hearts.
When you are tempted to
- Gossip about others
- Do something you know is wrong
- Watch something that damages your soul
- Pursue worldly pleasures that draw your heart away from God
Remind yourself that God is watching and listening. He knows everything.
Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”
Our hearts can easily wander wherever it want to go. But it is our responsibility to guard our hearts and be diligent about what we allow into our minds, hearts, and lives.
Living in the awareness that God sees everything should not only make us afraid of sin and it should also remind us of His presence. When we fail, we can come to Him, repent, and receive His grace to overcome temptation.
PRAYER
Lord, when I m tempted to gossip, do wrong, or pursue worldly pleasures, help me remember that You see and know everything. Thank You for the grace You have given me. Today, I take responsibility for how I live, choosing to walk in the awareness of Your presence and to guard my heart carefully.
Help me live a life that honors and pleases You. In Jesus name, amen.
