DEVOTION
Amidst all the chaos, mistakes, and rebellious attitude of Israel, God says something profound
“How can I give you up, Israel?” Hosea 11:8
God did not have to continue pursuing Israel. He could have chosen to let them go. Yet, even when Israel turned away from Him and sought after other things, God’s heart remained full of love and mercy.
Many times, we do the same. We may not intentionally reject God, but we put Him aside in our list of priorities. School, college, Work, business, family, children, responsibilities and other things can slowly take first place in our lives. Yet, in the midst of all this, God lovingly reminds us that
“How can I give up on you, my dear child?”
Place your name in my dear child and read it again.
No matter how far you have gone from God, He has not given up on you. No matter how many mistakes you have made or how deeply you may feel you have fallen, His mercy is still reaching for you.
Wherever you are today, simply say to Him
“God, forgive me for my sins and placing priorities in a wrong order, Lord, I am available, do what You want to do in my life.”
Our God is full of mercy and compassion. Let us never take His grace for granted, but instead respond to His love by turning our hearts back to Him.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for never giving up on me even in my lowest phase of my life. Thank you for being my refuge & loving me just the way I am. Forgive me for the rebellious attitude. I seek your presence with all my heart. Come do whatever you want to in my life. In Jesus name, amen.
