TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Hosea 4-6 Chapters
DEVOTION
Hosea 4:6 NKJV
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
Here, “knowledge” is not merely about having information about God. It speaks of knowing Him personally and intimately.
When you spend more time with a friend, you naturally learn their likes, dislikes, desires, and preferences. For example, if you know that your friend loves pizza, you gladly buy it for them because you know them and love them.
In the same way, when you truly know God and grow in your relationship with Him, your heart begins to understand what pleases Him. Obedience becomes less about following rules and more about responding to the One you love.
In Hosea 4, God shows that His people did not simply forget His ways accidentally. They rejected knowledge and forgot His law. They made a choice to turn away from Him, and their actions brought painful consequences.
When we choose to walk away from God, we place ourselves outside the protection and direction that come from walking closely with Him.
Today, you have a choice to make.
What will you choose?
How well do you know God?
Are you growing so close to Him that disobedience becomes difficult because you desire to please the One you love?
May we not be satisfied with simply knowing about God. May we pursue Him, know His heart, and grow deeper in our relationship with Him every day.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the opportunity You have given me to know You personally. It is such an honor to know the One who created me. Take me into a deeper and higher level of understanding of who You are. Birth in me a new hunger and desire for Your presence and Your Word. Help me to know You more, love You more, and obey You from a heart that truly desires to please You. In Jesus name, Amen.
