11 JULY 2026, DAY 192 – LIVING MORE THAN THIS LIFE

TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Ecclesiastes 6:1–6 (NLT)

DEVOTION
Imagine having everything people dream of the wealth, success, respect, and possessions but never being able to truly enjoy any of it. Solomon reminds us that without the ability to enjoy life’s blessings, even great wealth is meaningless.

We spend so much of our lives trying to improve our physical lives. We work hard to earn more, stay healthy, buy a house, own a car, invest for the future, and build a comfortable lifestyle. Yet no matter how much we achieve, every one of us will eventually leave this world.

The real question is

How much effort are we putting into what lasts forever?

We often worry about our careers, finances, appearance, and possessions. But do we examine our hearts with the same seriousness? Are we growing closer to God, or slowly drifting away? Are we becoming more like Christ, or simply becoming more successful in the world’s eyes?

Take a moment and ask yourself

Am I growing cold toward God?

Is pride keeping me from true humility?
Is there someone I still need to forgive?

Do my words and actions reflect the character of Christ?

Have I allowed envy or comparison to take root in my heart?

These questions matter because they shape not just this life, but eternity.

If these questions concern you, that’s a good sign. It means the Holy Spirit is still at work in your heart. Keep pursuing God faithfully, not just for today, but until your very last breath.

PRAYER

Dear God, help me not to live only for temporary things and teach me to see life from an eternal perspective. Help me invest not only in my earthly future but also in my relationship with You. Shape my heart to become more like Christ every day. In Jesus name, Amen.
