TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : 1 Kings 17-20 chapters DEVOTION
In 1 Kings 19:11–13, we see God speaking to Elijah not through a powerful wind, earthquake or fire but through a gentle whisper. Elijah immediately recognized that still, small voice as God’s. Often, we expect God to speak in big and dramatic ways through church conferences, rallies, or extraordinary events. But many times, God chooses to speak softly. His voice can come in quiet moments, not loud ones.
In our daily lives, we are surrounded by constant noise such as wars around the nations, scarcity of oil, economies collapsing, Inflation going up and up. It’s easy to be distracted by the things happening around. Without realizing it, we can drown God’s voice because we are not attentive. Yet God desires us to be listeners. He doesn’t always speak in dramatic ways. Many times, we hear Him during our daily routine when we
SPEND TIME IN PRAYER,
READ HIS WORD and
WORSHIP HIM.
We must be intentional about creating space to listen to God. As it says in Mark 4:9 (NLT) Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.
PRAYER
Lord, give me an open ear, an open mind, and an open heart to listen to Your voice, Amen.
