Silhouette of two people in a boat against a vibrant sunset over calm waters. Tranquil scene.

DAY 84 – HUMILITY TO FINISH WELL

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : 1Kings 13-16 chapters DEVOTION

2 Chronicles 14-16 chapters also mentions about Asa. Asa became king of Judah after Abijah and began his reign in a way that pleased God. He removed pagan altars, cut down Asherah poles, and led the people to seek the Lord and follow His commands. Even overthrew his grandmother for idolatry. Because of his faith, God gave him victory over a vast Ethiopian army.

However, later in his life, Asa stopped seeking God’s guidance. Instead, he made an alliance with King Ben-Hadad of Syria, even bribing him to break his treaty with King Baasha. Although his plan succeeded, it was not according to God’s will.

When God’s prophet Hanani confronted him, Asa reacted with anger. He imprisoned the prophet and began to oppress his people. Rather than accepting correction and turning back to God, Asa allowed pride to take control.

     Asa’s life reminds us that

STARTING WELL IS NOT ENOUGH WE MUST REMAIN HUMBLE AND DEPENDENT ON GOD TILL THE END.

He began as an obedient king but later relied on human strength instead of trusting God. In the same way, you may have begun your journey with obedience and faith.

But are you continuing in that same way as life goes on?

PRAYER

Lord, I’m sorry for my mistakes and disobedience. Please show me Your mercy and help me walk and trust you in every phase of my life with humility, Amen.
