27 AUGUST 2026, DAY 239 – GOD DOESN’T WANT DIVIDED ATTENTION BUT YOUR WHOLE HEART

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Ezekiel 10-12 Chapters

DEVOTION
Ezekiel 11:19 NLT
“And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart.”

A singleness of heart means having an undivided heart, one that is fully committed to seeking God and following His purpose. It means no longer allowing the world, sin, or anything else to compete with God for our attention and devotion.

Is my heart divided between God and the things of this world?

God does not want a portion of our hearts, He desires our whole heart. Sometimes we may be tempted to return to the things we once asked God to help us leave behind. But God has already begun a work of transformation in us. He has removed the stony, stubborn heart and given us a tender heart that can hear Him, respond to Him, and obey Him.

And He has given us the Holy Spirit our Helper and Guide, to lead us in the right direction. Like a physician who gives instructions for our health, the Holy Spirit gives us guidance for our spiritual lives. Our responsibility is to listen and obey.

What if you don’t listen to your doctor after evaluating your condition?
It’s the same when you don’t listen to your in house physician the Holy Spirit.

Following God is not a one day decision but it’s a continuous process of surrender, obedience, and transformation. Each day, we must choose to turn away from sin, listen to God’s voice, and walk according to His Word.

Let us not allow our hearts to be divided. Give God your whole heart, your full attention, and your complete obedience.

PRAYER
Lord, thank You for giving me a new heart and a new spirit. Help me to have a singleness of heart to seek You above everything else and not allow the things of this world to divide my attention or pull me away from You. Holy Spirit, guide me. May my heart be tender towards you and responsive to your voice. In Jesus name, Amen.
