TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Ezekiel 7-9 Chapters
DEVOTION
Ezekiel 7:20 NLT
“They were proud of their beautiful jewellery and used it to make detestable idols and vile images. Therefore, I will make all their wealth disgusting to them.”
God had blessed His people with valuable resources, but they took what He had given them and used it to create idols. The problem was not the gold it was what they chose to do with the gold.
The same principle applies to our lives. God has entrusted each of us with talents, abilities, finances, opportunities, possessions, relationships, time, and influence. These blessings are meant to be used according to His purposes.
A gift from God can become an idol when we begin using it only for ourselves.
Our talent can become an idol when we use it for recognition rather than service. Our money can become an idol when it becomes our security rather than a resource to steward.
Our career can become an idol when success matters more than obedience.
Even our dreams can become idols when our plans become more important than God’s will.
The greatest question is not, “What has God given me?” but, “What am I doing with what God has given me?”
What talents and abilities has God entrusted to you?
What resources and opportunities has He placed in your hands?
Are you using them to honor God?
Has anything God gave you became more important to you than God Himself?
If God asked you to use your gifts differently, would you be willing to obey?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for every gift, talent, resource, opportunity, and blessing You have placed in my life. Forgive me for the times I have used Your gifts primarily for my own recognition, comfort, or ambition. Help me remember that everything I have ultimately comes from You. Teach me to be a faithful steward and to use everything You have entrusted to me for Your glory and according to Your will. In Jesus name, Amen.
