DAY 86 – STAND YOUR GROUND

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 21,22 chapters DEVOTION

When Ahab, king of Israel asked Jehoshaphat, king of Judah to join him in battle against Aram, Ahab first consulted a large group of false prophets. They all gave him the answer he wanted “Go and succeed!”

However, Jehoshaphat insisted on hearing from a true prophet of the Lord. Ahab reluctantly called for Micaiah. A messenger was sent to fetch Micaiah and warned him to go with majority opinion, promise victory.

But Micaiah’s resolve was unshakable “I will only say what God tells me to say.” Micaiah faced intense peer pressure and everyone around him was trading the truth for the King’s favor.

Are you trading truth for someone’s favour?

What are you trading God’s truth for?

Honestly, Micaiah was slapped and thrown into prison. Yet, he refused to waver. When you choose to stand for God, it may feel like everything and everyone is against you. But remember child of God, IF GOD IS FOR YOU, WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU.
PRAYER

Lord, grant me the boldness to stand my ground in you, no matter what it costs me. Amen.
