TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : 1 Chronicles 17-20 chapters
DEVOTION
I Chronicles 17:1 David was deeply concerned that the Ark, which symbolised God’s presence, was dwelling in a tent while he himself lived in a palace. His desire was right but his timing was not. When God revealed His plan in Chronicles 17:3 and 4, David chose to submit to God’s timing instead of pushing his own agenda. It’s good to have a heart that desires to honor God, especially when we see areas where His work seems neglected. But even with the right intentions, we must learn to move according to God’s timing not ours.
As it is written in Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.” Trusting God’s timing isn’t always easy, especially when things don’t make sense. But His timing is perfect. Instead of questioning “why” or trying to figure everything out on our own, we are to trust Him. At the right time, God will make everything happen beautifully.
WHAT WE NEED IS THE WISDOM AND PATIENCE TO TRUST HIS TIMING RATHER THAN RUSHING AHEAD WITH OUR OWN PLANS.
PRAYER
Lord, I trust Your timing and the seasons You have set for my life. I believe that at the right time, You will make everything happen. Help me to wait with faith and obedience. Amen.
