TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 7–9
DEVOTION
“All who fear the Lord will hate evil.” Proverbs 8:13 NLT
The more a person reveres and fears God, the more they will hate evil. Genuine love for God and love for sin cannot exist together, just as light and darkness cannot dwell in the same place.
When we entertain sinful thoughts or willingly practice what displeases God, it reveals that our reverence for Him has weakened. Secret sins are not hidden from God. When we tolerate them, we allow evil to take root in our hearts.
The fear of the Lord is not merely being afraid of God but it is loving, honoring, and respecting Him so deeply that we desire to stay away from anything that grieves His heart. As we grow closer to God, our desire for sin decreases, and our love for righteousness grows.
Today, make a firm decision to reject every form of evil and surrender your heart completely to God.
You cannot love both God and sin.
So, what do you love the most?
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for teaching me through Your Word. Fill my heart with a deep fear and reverence for You. Help me to hate evil, love what is right, and let my thoughts, words, and actions reflect my love for You. In Jesus name, Amen.
