DEVOTION
Isaiah 30:10 (NLT)
“They tell the seers, ‘Stop seeing visions!’ They tell the prophets, ‘Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies.'”
The people of Judah were looking to Egypt for security instead of trusting God. They became comfortable with their own plans and wanted to hear only encouraging messages. They rejected the truth that God was speaking through His prophets.
Truth is often makes us uncomfortable because it exposes what we would rather ignore. As humans, we can be tempted to prefer comforting illusions, lies because they make us feel safe for a moment.
But Jesus said in John 8:32, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Real freedom comes from embracing God’s truth, even when it challenges us.
Don’t run from reality. It may be difficult to face, but it is far better to live in the truth than to remain comfortable in a lie. Be careful not to settle for ideas that merely make you feel good if they are not true.
The world often disguises lies as truth, but God Himself is truth. When we seek Him with an open heart, He faithfully guides us in His ways.
