2 JUNE 2026, DAY 152 – PRAISE THROUGH EVERY SEASON

TODAY’s SCRIPTURE: Psalms 70-72 chapters

DEVOTION

Psalm 71 is addressed as an old man’s prayer.

“My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your glory all day long.” Psalm 71:8 (AMP)

“That is why I can never stop praising you; I declare your glory all day long.” Psalm 71:8 (NLT)

These verses highlight the importance of continually praising God. As I was preparing this devotion, I paused for a moment simply to praise Him. Our God is truly worthy of all honour and worship.

In verses 4 and 5, the psalmist cries out for God’s deliverance and protection from his enemies. This shows that his praise was not offered during a season of comfort, but in the midst of difficulty. Even while facing challenges, he chose to keep glorifying God.

This reminds me of Paul and Silas in prison. Though they were confined in chains, they spent the night praying and singing praises to God. Then, suddenly, a powerful earthquake shook the prison to its foundations.

Today, choose to praise God regardless of your circumstances. Don’t reserve your worship only for moments when everything is going well. Praise Him during your struggles, your disappointments, and your “prison-like” situations. As you continue to trust and honour Him, place your confidence in His power to work in ways you cannot yet see.

PRAYER

Lord, like Habakkuk declared: “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines… yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will be joyful in God my Saviour.” Habakkuk 3:17–18 Help me to praise You in every season, whether in times of abundance or difficulty. May my heart remain focused on Your goodness and faithfulness. Amen.
