TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Psalms 4-6 chapters DEVOTION
Psalms 4:7 (AMP) “You have put joy in my heart, more than when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.”
This verse shows us two kinds of joy.
One kind of happiness comes from outward things like wealth, success, possessions, trips, houses, or favorable circumstances. These things may bring temporary excitement, but they do not last forever. When circumstances change, that happiness can quickly fade.
The other kind is the joy that comes from knowing and trusting God. This joy is deeper, lasting, and not dependent on what we have or what we are going through. That is why Nehemiah 8:10 says, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” True joy is found in a relationship with God. The more we know Him, the more we trust Him. And the more we trust Him, the more His joy fills our hearts.
