TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Zechariah 1-3 Chapters
DEVOTION
Zechariah 3:2-4
Zechariah’s vision graphically portrays how we receive God’s mercy. We do nothing to earn it ourselves. When we look closely at the passage, we see that it is God who takes the initiative:
He removes our filthy garments and provides us with new, clean clothes.
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
It is God who works in us. We do not earn His righteousness through our own efforts or good works. All we need to do is repent and ask God to forgive us.
When Satan tries to plant thoughts of unworthiness in our minds, let us remember that Christ has clothed us with His righteousness. Because of Him, we can confidently draw near to God.
Our worth does not come from what we have done, but from what God has done for us through Christ.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the mercy and unfailing love You have shown and continue to show toward me. Help me always remember that my worth is found in You. Thank You for making me valuable and for clothing me in the righteousness of Christ. When I feel unworthy, remind me of Your grace and help me draw near to You with confidence. In Jesus name, amen.
