TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Daniel 7-9 Chapters
DEVOTION
Daniel 8:27 (NKJV)
“And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days; afterward I rose and went about the king’s business. I was astonished by the vision, but no one understood it.”
Daniel had just experienced a disturbing vision. What he saw deeply affected him. He became exhausted, overwhelmed, and physically sick for several days. Yet, after that difficult season, Daniel rose and went about the king’s business.
What a powerful example for us.
There are moments in life when circumstances can become so overwhelming that we want to stop everything. Problems occupy our thoughts, worries consume our peace, and we can become so focused on what is happening around us that we forget that God is still in control.
Daniel teaches us that being troubled does not mean we have to be defeated. He was affected by what he experienced, but he did not allow it to stop him from fulfilling his responsibilities.
Daniel could rise again because his relationship with God was stronger than the circumstances around him. His prayer life, faith, and fellowship with God had prepared him to remain steady in difficult times.
We too must learn to bring our troubles before God rather than allowing our troubles to take over our lives. We can acknowledge the problem without making the problem our focus.
Whatever you are facing today, don’t allow it to consume you. Don’t let fear, disappointment, confusion, or anxiety keep you from moving forward. Take your concerns to God, receive His wisdom, and then rise and continue doing what He has called you to do.
Your circumstances may be difficult, but God is greater than that.
Keep your eyes fixed on Him. Trust His wisdom. Walk in His strength. And when life knocks you down, rise again and continue forward with God.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the insight and understanding You have given me. Help me take my focus away from my problems, troubles, and circumstances, and keep my eyes fixed on You alone. Your Word says that the One who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world. Help me walk in that truth and not be overcome by any situation in my life. Give me patience, wisdom, strength, and integrity to handle every circumstance according to Your will. In Jesus name, amen.
