25 AUGUST 2026, DAY 237 – DON’T YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE BOUGTH AT A PRICE?

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Ezekiel 4-6 Chapters

DEVOTION
Ezekiel 5:11 NKJV
“Therefore as I live,” says the Lord God, “Surely, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable things and with all your abominations, therefore I will also diminish you; My eye will not spare, nor will I have any pity.”

It is a serious thing to defile God’s temple. In Ezekiel’s time, God’s people had brought idols, abominations, and sinful practices into His sanctuary, dishonoring the place that belonged to Him.

Today, God’s Word reminds us that our bodies are His temple.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Because the Holy Spirit lives in us, we are called to be careful about what we allow into our hearts and lives. Gossip, bitterness, unforgiveness, wrong actions, sinful attitudes, and even wrong thoughts and intentions can defile God’s temple.

It is not always easy to control our thoughts, emotions, words, and actions on our own. But we have a great helper, the Holy Spirit. When we surrender ourselves to Him and ask for His help, He guides, corrects us and helps us walk in God’s ways.

Let us examine our hearts today and ask God to remove anything that does not glorify Him. May our lives, our bodies, our thoughts, and our attitudes be a reflection of His presence within us.

PRAYER
Lord, I surrender my thoughts, actions, words, and attitudes into Your mighty hands. Holy Spirit, I ask for Your help, guidance and discipline me to walk in the right path. Cleanse my heart from anything that does not please You. Help me to guard my thoughts, my words, and my actions and to live a life that honors You. Let my body, my spirit, and my whole life glorify Your name. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.
