TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Isaiah 47-49 Chapters
DEVOTION
Have you ever felt abandoned by people?
Have you ever wondered if God has deserted you or forgotten you?
“Yet Jerusalem says, ‘The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.” Isaiah 49:14 NLT
The people of Israel felt this way during their exile in Babylon. They believed God had abandoned them. But through the prophet Isaiah, God gave them a powerful reminder,
“Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15 NLT
God’s love is steadfast. His commitment to His people is even stronger than the deepest human love. Though circumstances may make us feel forgotten, God’s promises remain true. Moses also reminded God’s people that
“For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will never fail you or abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT
When you feel distant from God, it’s time to examine our own relationship with Him. Have you drifted away from Him, or are you allowing your circumstances to shape our view of His faithfulness?
Regardless of what happened come back to God. He is loving, faithful, and true to His promises. He will never leave or forsake those who trust in Him.
PRAYER
God, there have been times when I have drifted away from You. Thank You that Your love which has remained constant even when I have been unfaithful. Forgive me for the times I have neglected my relationship with You. Thank You for Your unfailing love, Your faithfulness, and Your presence in my lows and highs. Thank you for being amazing God who never leaves or forsakes. In Jesus name, Amen.
