TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Isaiah 4-6 Chapters
DEVOTION
Isaiah 6:1-8
Isaiah 6 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. In this chapter, Isaiah sees a vision of the Lord seated on a high and exalted throne. Around Him stood the mighty seraphim, each with six wings, worshiping God in reverence and proclaiming, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty.”
In God’s holy presence, Isaiah immediately recognized his own sinfulness. He cried out that he was a man of unclean lips, realizing how far he fell short of God’s perfect holiness.
When we live with reverence and fear of the Lord, we become more aware of His presence. Instead of taking His presence for granted, we should make the most of every opportunity to worship and praise Him.
Luke 5:8 (NLT) says
“When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, ‘Oh, Lord, please leave me I’m such a sinful man.'”
In both Isaiah’s and Peter’s experiences, God’s presence made all the difference. Jesus is the Light of the world. It is in His light that we see the reality of our own hearts and recognize our need for His grace and cleansing.
After Isaiah confessed his sin, one of the seraphim touched his lips with a burning coal from the altar, symbolizing God’s forgiveness and purification. Only then did God call Isaiah into His service.
Before we do anything for God’s kingdom He prepares us, we must first allow Him to cleanse and transform us.
Purification is not always easy. It may require us to let go of a habit, a relationship, a friendship, a harmful thought, or anything that draws us away from God. Sometimes the process is painful, but it is always for our good.
May we willingly surrender every area of our lives to God so that we can truly reflect and represent the One who is holy and pure.
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for Your holy presence in my life. Search my heart and reveal anything that is unholy or unclean in Your sight. Give me the strength to let go of every habit, relationship, person, or thought that keeps me away from You. I lay everything at Your altar. Renew my mind, my thoughts, my attitude, and my heart. Purify me so that I may faithfully reflect Your character and represent You in my daily life. In Jesus name, Amen.
