15 JULY 2026, DAY 196 – WHERE IS YOUR HEART?

TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Isaiah 1-3 Chapters

DEVOTION
Isaiah 3:16-25

The women of Jerusalem had placed their emphasis on clothing and jewellery rather on God. They dressed to impress, to be noticed, to gain approval and to be trendy. God warns the women of Jerusalem, not because they wore beautiful clothes or jewellery, but because their hearts had become consumed with pride, self-display, and worldly status while ignoring the suffering and injustice around them in Isaiah 3:14,15.

God is not against beauty or enjoying His blessings. He is concerned with our priorities. When our appearance, possessions, or desire for approval become more important than loving God and caring for others, our hearts begin to drift from Him.

It is good to take care of ourselves and appreciate what God has provided. But His blessings are not meant to end with us. They are also opportunities to serve, encourage, and help those in need. A generous heart reflects God’s character far more than outward appearance ever can.

Today, take a moment to ask yourself

Am I more focused on what I can gain for myself, or on how I can glorify God by blessing others?

When we place God first, He teaches us to value people over possessions.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for every blessing You have entrusted to me. Guard my heart from pride, selfishness, and the desire to seek approval from others. Teach me to use my time, resources, and gifts to honor You and to serve those around me. Help me to put You first, love others sincerely, and live with humility and generosity each day. In Jesus name, Amen
