TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Proverbs 13-15 Chapters
DEVOTION
Pride leads to conflict, those who take advice are wise.” Proverbs 13:10
PRIDE
It’s a complex emotion tied to self worth, identity and makes you feel better than other people.
HUMILITY
It’s having a proper grounded perspective of yourself in relation to God and others.
The passage reminds us that conflicts are often intensified when people become more concerned with being right than with seeking wisdom. Humility doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself it means being willing to learn, admit mistakes, and value others perspectives.
Let’s take a test
Ready for it?
Did you ever use these?
“I was wrong.”
“I need your help.”
Neither is easy to say, but both require honesty, courage, and a willingness to grow.
A practical way to apply today’s reading is to ask yourself:
Am I listening as carefully as I speak?
Am I open to correction without becoming defensive?
Is my goal to win an argument or to preserve relationships and pursue wisdom?
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for teaching me the importance of humility. Forgive me for the times I have been prideful and held an unhealthy view of myself. Give me a humble heart that is willing to listen, learn, and admit when I am wrong. Help me seek wise counsel, ask for help when I need it and treat others with gentleness and grace. In Jesus name, Amen.
