TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Psalms 144-146 Chapters
DEVOTION
“For they are like a breath of air; their days are like a passing shadow.” Psalm 144:4 (NLT)
David reminds us that human life is like a breath, a passing shadow that quickly disappears. Likewise, James compares our lives to a morning mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes (James 4:14).
These verses remind us that life on earth is brief. Because life is short, don’t spend it pursuing only temporary pleasures or selfish ambitions. Instead, live for God, who alone gives life true purpose, meaning, and eternal value.
Be mindful of how you spend your time. Hours can easily disappear through endless scrolling, idle conversations, entertainment, or living only for the next trip or celebration. While rest and enjoyment have their place, they should not become the purpose of our lives.
Today 28 June 2026, is a gift from God that many people did not receive. Be grateful for every moment He has given you. Use your time wisely, seek His will, serve others, and live each day in a way that brings glory to Him.
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for the gift of life and for the purpose You have in my life. My life is like a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. Help me to use each day wisely, to seek Your will above my own, and to live in a way that honors You. May my words, actions, and decisions bring glory to Your name. Teach me to invest my time in what has eternal value. In Jesus name, Amen.
