TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Psalm 147-148 Chapters
DEVOTION
“No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalm 147:11 (NLT)
Many of us spend our lives developing our abilities, strengthening our skills, and striving to achieve more. There is nothing wrong with excellence God has given us our talents, and they can be used to glorify Him. However, our strength, intelligence, and achievements are never what impress God the most.
Psalm 147 reminds us that God’s delight is not in human power or ability, but in people who fear Him and place their hope in His unfailing love.
To fear God means to honor Him, trust Him, and desire to live in a way that pleases Him. When we place our hope in His steadfast love rather than in our own abilities, we acknowledge that He is our true source of strength.
God, who created the heavens, the earth, the sun, the moon, and every star, delights in those who revere Him and trust in His faithful love. What an incredible privilege that the Creator of the universe takes delight in those who simply trust Him.
Today, take a moment to examine your heart
Do I truly fear and honor God?
Where do I place my hope in my abilities, in people, or in God’s unfailing love?
When our hope is anchored in Him, He can use our gifts and abilities far beyond what we could ever accomplish on our own. I will trust in You above my own strength, knowing that You delight in those who put their hope in You.
PRAYER
Dear God, thank You for Your unfailing love and for delighting in those who trust You. Teach me to honor You with my life and to place my hope in You alone. Use my gifts for Your glory, and help me become a person who brings joy to Your heart. In Jesus name, Amen.
