9 APRIL 2026, DAY 99 – A CHEERFUL GIVER

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : I Chronicles 25-29 chapters

DEVOTION

In I Chronicles 29:3–9, David gave generously from his own personal wealth for the building of the temple. He encouraged others to give, and they willingly did it. We may not have the riches of David, but we can have his heart, a heart that is willing to give. These leaders showed the right attitude toward money. Their giving was not forced, it was voluntary and joyful.

As it says in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “God loves a cheerful giver.” Are you a cheerful giver? God is not focused on the size of our offering, but on the condition of our heart. In Mark 12:41-44, the poor widow gave two small coins, yet Jesus honored her above all others because she gave wholeheartedly, not out of surplus, but out of sacrifice.

Things to remember while giving

1. CHECK YOUR MOTIVES AND GIVE WITH A PURE HEART

2. DON’T GIVE OUT OF DUTY OR OBLIGATION

3. GIVE CHEERFULLY

4. TRUST THAT GOD VALUES SINCERITY OVER SIZE OF THE OFFERING

How is your attitude toward money?

How are you giving?

With what condition of heart are you giving?

PRAYER

Lord, examine my heart as I serve in Your Kingdom. Help me to give with the right attitude willingly, cheerfully, and with a sincere heart. Amen.
