11 APRIL 2026, DAY 101 – PRESCRIPTION FOR DISOBEDIENCE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : II Chronicles 5-8 chapters DEVOTION

II Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

God, in His wisdom, knew that His people would sometimes drift away, disobey, and even forsake Him. Instead of abandoning, He gave a prescription for it. This verse reveals five steps

                       Humble yourself

      (Acknowledge your dependence on God)

                                      ↓

                          Pray to God

(Stay in constant communication with Him)

                                     ↓

                         Seek His face

                  (Desire His presence)

                                    ↓

                        Turn from sin

              (Walk in true repentance)

                                   ↓

And God responds with a promise

He will hear, forgive, and bring healing

As written in Psalm 69:10, “When I wept and humbled myself with fasting, It became my reproach. Humbling oneself with fasting reflects a heart that longs for God. Fasting is a deliberate act of surrender it weakens the flesh and strengthens the spirit. It helps subdue our pride, quiet self-centeredness, evil desires, dark thoughts and align our hearts with Him. It creates a deeper desire to turn away from sin and draw closer to God.

Acts 3:19 (NIV) “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Repentance begins in the mind, flows into the heart. True repentance is reflected in your actions . It is not just feeling or saying sorry but not repeating it again and again.

 Did you truly repent?

Are you living your life in true repentance?

 PRAYER

Lord, I acknowledge that I failed and disobeyed You in many instances. I humbly come before You today, asking for Your forgiveness. As I fast and seek You, strengthen my spirit and help me overcome every fleshly desire. Lead me into true repentance and draw me closer to Your presence. Amen.
