TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Zechariah 13-14 Chapters
DEVOTION
““In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.”
Zechariah 13:1 NKJV
A fountain speaks of something that continually flows. It does not run dry. In the same way, God’s mercy and forgiveness are continually available to those who come to Him with a sincere heart.
In John 4, Jesus speaks about the living water that only He can give. The water of this world can satisfy us for a moment, but the living water of Jesus satisfies the deepest thirst of our soul.
Sometimes, we may look fine on the outside while our hearts are thirsty on the inside.
Are you spiritually thirsty today?
Is there something in your past that you need to bring before God? Do you need to experience His forgiveness and cleansing?
Come to the fountain.
Bring your past, your failures, your mistakes, and your regrets to Jesus. Ask Him for forgiveness with a sincere heart. But forgiveness is not an invitation to return to the same mistakes. When God forgives us, He also calls us to walk in a new direction.
Let us therefore be responsible not only in asking God to forgive us, but also in the way we live after He forgives us.
Come to Jesus, the Living Water.
God is merciful, gracious and faithful. And His forgiveness gives us the courage to leave the past behind and begin again.
Today, come to the fountain.
Come with a humble heart and receive His forgiveness.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the precious gift of forgiveness. Thank You that when I come to You with a sincere and repentant heart, You do not reject me, but You receive me with mercy and grace. There is no one like You, Lord.
Examine my heart and know my thoughts. Search me and reveal anything in me that is not pleasing to You. Forgive me for the mistakes of my past and cleanse me from everything that separates me from You.
Lord, help me not to return to the things You have delivered me from. Let Your living water fill my heart, refresh my soul, and transform my life. Thank You for giving me a new beginning. In Jesus name, amen.
