TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Isaiah 20-23 Chapters
DEVOTION
Tyre was one of the most happening and prosperous cities of the ancient world. It was a major center of trade with a thriving seaport. The city appeared beautiful, wealthy, and attractive, but the people are known for pride.
Through Isaiah, God warned not to place their trust in unstable political alliances and human strength instead of Him.
“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has done it to destroy your pride and bring low all earth’s nobility.” Isaiah 23:9 NLT
God’s judgment against Tyre reminds us that He opposes pride. As James 4:6 says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Pride creates distance between people and, more importantly, between us and God. He does not overlook pride, He calls us to humility and dependence on Him.
Take a moment to examine your heart.
Who receives the credit for your achievements and accomplishments?
Are you relying on your own abilities, or are you acknowledging God as the source of every blessing?
Every good gift, every opportunity, and every true accomplishment ultimately comes from our Creator. A humble heart honors Him and recognizes His hand in every success.
PRAYER
God, as I begin this day, if pride arises in my thoughts or actions, bring correction in me and help me walk in humility. May my life always bring honor and glory to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
