TODAY’s SCRIPTURE : Amos 4-6 Chapters
DEVOTION
Amos 6:1-6
Amos spoke to a people who were enjoying wealth, comfort, and prosperity. They had become secure in their possessions and lifestyle, yet they had grown indifferent to the needs and suffering of others.
Their story reminds us that prosperity itself is not the problem. God is not against us receiving a new job, building a successful business, enjoying a comfortable home, or experiencing His blessings. The danger comes when those blessings become our source of security instead of God.
Everything we have is ultimately a gift from Him. Therefore, our blessings should not make us proud, self-sufficient, or indifferent. Instead, they should make us more grateful, generous, and willing to serve others.
In God’s Kingdom, there is no room for selfishness or indifference. We must learn to look beyond our own wants and recognize the needs of those around us. When God blesses us, He can use what He has placed in our hands to become a blessing to someone else.
True security is not found in what we possess, but it is found in JESUS. When our confidence is in God’s presence, we can enjoy His blessings without allowing them to control our hearts.
May we never become so comfortable with our blessings that we forget the One who gave them. May our prosperity produce generosity and our blessings become a means of glorifying God.
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for every blessing You have placed in my life. My true security is found in Your presence. Give me a heart that sees the needs of others and is willing to help. Keep me from selfishness, pride, and complacency. Teach me to use everything You have given me my time, resources, abilities, and opportunities to bless others and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus name, amen.
