TODAY’S SCRIPTURE –Genesis 25–28 chapters
DEVOTION
“I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.”
— Genesis 28:15 (NLT)
Jacob was alone when he received this promise. He was tired, uncertain, and stepping into an unknown future. Yet in that moment, God spoke one of the most powerful promises ever given.
“I am with you, I will protect you, I will not leave you.” God wasn’t only speaking about Jacob’s present . He was also securing Jacob’s future.
“I am with you” – God promises His presence.
“I will protect you” – God promises His covering.
“I will not leave you” – God promises His faithfulness.
God didn’t say He would stay until Jacob made a mistake. He didn’t say He would stay until things got difficult. He said He would stay until every promise was fulfilled.
Imagine if a powerful leader ( Prime minister ) said to you, “I will not leave until I give you everything I promised.” How much more powerful is it when the Creator of heaven and earth says it?
The God who formed the galaxies, the stars, and the universe looks at us, so small but still he says: “I am with you.” We may let go of His hand at times, but he never does .God remains faithful. How can we remain silent, if god is so faithful about fulfilling promise right ? Even jacob couldn’t stay silent.so, he tesified.
Jacob in later part of scripture testified: “The God of my father has been with me.” — Genesis 31:5
“His faithfulness continues to each generation.” — Psalm 100:5
What God promises, He fulfills. And what He fulfills, He wants us to testify about.
REFLECTION
God has been faithful in your past. He is faithful in your present. And He will be faithful in your future. Are you ready to testify, just like Jacob said “The Lord has been with me”?
PRAYER
Dear God , thank you for being a faithful God and a loving Father. Even when I fail, You remain faithful. Thank You for Your patience, Your love, and Your promises in my life. Help me trust You through every season. In Jesus name ,
