DAY 31 – RAIN

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Leviticus 24-27 chapters DEVOTION

“I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit.” -Leviticus 26:4 (NLT)

I love rainy days. There is something so peaceful about the sound of rain touching the ground and something so calming about grey skies. It makes me want to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee.

But more than that, I love discovering what God says about rain.

The Importance of Rain In Bible times, rain had great importance because it directly affected people’s daily lives. It had practical and social impact on their economy and survival. The amount of rain determined whether there would be a good harvest or famine. Plants, animals, and humans all depend on water to survive.

In Egypt, the Nile River kept the land green with good irrigation. Life depended on the river, not on rain. But when God rescued Israel from Egypt, He led them into a dry and dusty land one that depended completely on rain from heaven.

Why would God do that?

So they would learn to

1.Pray to Him

2.Seek Him

3.Trust Him to meet their needs

Because with God, it’s all about relationship, not self-reliance.

Read – Deuteronomy 11:10-11

God wanted His people to look up to Him daily, not depend on their own systems. He wanted their hearts to stay connected to Him.

PRAYER

Dear God, thank You for helping me realize my complete dependence on You. Lord, I can do nothing without You. I ask for Your intervention in everything I do. Teach me to trust You in every season of my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
