TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Genesis 46–47 chapters
DEVOTION
In Genesis 47, we see Joseph leading Egypt through one of the worst famines in history. His leadership didn’t happen by accident ,it was built through faithfulness, wisdom, and integrity.
Let’s look at what made Joseph a great leader:
1. Faithfulness in Every Season Joseph was faithful everywhere God placed him : As a slave in Potiphar’s house As a prisoner in jail As the governor (Prime Minister) of Egypt Joseph didn’t wait for a title to be faithful. He served with excellence wherever he was. True leadership begins long before promotion.
2. Wisdom to Create Solutions Joseph didn’t just react to the famine , he planned ahead. He designed a bold and strategic system to store grain and later buy land so Egypt could survive. This wasn’t just a survival plan, it was a wise system that: Saved people, Stabilized the economy, Strengthened the nation. Joseph understood the political, social, and economic reality of his time and used God’s wisdom to act.
3. Leadership is about Means, not Just ends . Many people want success, position, or influence but God is more interested in how we get there. Joseph didn’t use corruption, pride, or shortcuts.
He used :
Faithfulness, Integrity, God given wisdom, God is ready to make you a leader.
But are you ready to walk in the character of a leader?
PRAYER
Dear God , Help me to focus on the means, not just the ends. Mould me, teach me, and correct me in all my ways. Use me as Your vessel, in JESUS name ,
Amen.
