TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : GENESIS 45 chapter
DEVOTION
The above chapter give us one of the most powerful examples of forgiveness in the Bible and that’s Joseph. Joseph had every reason to hold a grudge. His own brothers betrayed him, they sold him into slavery out of jealousy for their father’s love and attention.
Yet, when Joseph finally stood face to face with them, he didn’t choose revenge but he chose forgiveness. Instead of saying, “Look what you did to me,” Joseph said, “God turned what you meant for evil into good.”
Because Joseph forgave:
God healed his heart, God restored his family.
God exalted him to a place of honor and influence.
Unforgiveness, resentment, and bitterness may feel justified but they quietly destroy us from the inside.
They make us:
Easily angry,
Emotionally heavy,
Spiritually faint ,
Constantly frustrated.
Let’s see what colossians 3:13
“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”
And that’s so profound right ?
PRAYER
Dear God, show me if there is any unforgiveness in my heart.
Lord, I choose to forgive those who have hurt me, just as You have forgiven me on the cross . In JESUS name,
Amen.
