TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Numbers 22-24 chapters DEVOTION
Balaam was riding his donkey on the way to curse the Israelites. Along the path, the donkey suddenly turned off into a field, and Balaam beat it. The donkey had seen the angel of the Lord standing in the way. Later, the donkey tried to squeeze past a wall and crushed Balaam’s foot. Again, Balaam beat it. Then the angel stood in such a narrow place that the donkey could not move at all. Once more, Balaam struck the donkey.
Finally, the Lord caused the donkey to speak “What have I done to you that you have beaten me these three times?” Many times, like Balaam, we take things for granted.
We fail to notice the small signs, delays, and interruptions that God places in our path. What seems insignificant like a donkey may be God’s way of protecting or guiding us. God speaks in ways we may never expect. He uses people, situations, and even obstacles to get our attention. When we live with spiritual awareness, we learn to recognize His voice and direction. Let us be ready to listen, slow down, and trust that God is always at work even in unexpected ways.
PRAYER
Dear God, Just as You used a donkey to speak, help me to be aware of what You are doing around me. Teach me to wait eagerly for Your voice, to listen carefully, and to obey You in all that You say.In Jesus name, Amen.
