DAY 36 – STAND YOUR GROUND

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Numbers 13-15 chapters

DEVOTION

“But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!” Numbers 13:30 (NLT)

“But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” – Numbers 13:31 (NLT)

When the Crowd Says No Caleb teaches us what it means to stand for God even when everyone else is against us. While others focused on fear, Caleb focused on faith. He had seen the land, trusted God’s promise, and boldly said, “We can certainly conquer it!”

When we go against the crowd, we also need truth, the right attitude, and courage to speak clearly. The other Israelites chose doubt over trust. Instead of believing God, they believed their fears. Sometimes what feels “logical” is actually rooted in insecurity and unbelief. Fear can make the wrong choice seem right. Ten negative voices were enough to turn a whole nation around.

This reminds us that our words matter. When we speak without faith or wisdom, we can influence others in harmful ways. As believers, we are called to speak life, hope, and truth. When despair spread, everyone joined in. They forgot what God had already done for them. Instead of moving forward, they wanted to go backward.

Complaining took the place of confidence.

If they had trusted God, they would have entered their promise. Don’t let fear decide your future. Choose faith like Caleb. Speak with wisdom. Trust God’s character. And when others complain, be the one who believes.

PRAYER

Dear God, help me stand my ground no matter what like Caleb. Help me speak with your wisdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
