DAY 34 – REVERENCE

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Numbers 7-9 chapters DEVOTION

“Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark’s Cover, the place of atonement that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord spoke to him from there.” – Numbers 7:89 (NLT)

During Moses time, God spoke from specific places and in specific ways. Moses had to enter the Tabernacle to hear His voice. Imagine hearing the very voice of God, how inspiring and humbling that must have been! Today, we may not hear God in the same way, but we have His Word recorded for us in the Bible.

Every time we open Scripture, we are given the opportunity to hear His voice. Because of this, we should approach God’s Word with the same reverence and respect. God spoke directly to His people to guide them in the right way to live.

These conversations are recorded to reveal His character, His love, and His will for us. How serious it is, then, when we treat His Word lightly or read it without honour. May we never forget that the Bible is not just another book, it is God’s living Word to us.

PRAYER

Dear God, thank you for Your Word recorded in the Bible. Help me never to take it lightly. It is an honor to read, study, and meditate on Your truth. Teach me to approach Your Word with reverence and obedience. In Jesus name, Amen.
