TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Joshua 9-12 chapters DEVOTION
So, the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the Lord. Joshua 9:14 NLT
We see when the leaders sampled the provisions, they saw that the bread was dry & mouldy, the wineskins were split open and the clothes & sandals worn out. But they did not see through the deception.
After the promise has been made & ratified the treaty, Israelites realised that they were deceived. Even in Exodus 23:32, it’s quoted that “Make no treaties with them”. God specifically instructed to not make treaty with the inhabitants of Canaan.
Joshua knew enough to talk to God before sending the troops in to battle. But the peace treaty seemed nice & Joshua and the other leaders made their decision on their own.

DECEPTION
How often do we do the same?
We feel that we know all the facts & have good understanding of it. But seeking God’s guidance before entering an agreement can keep minor matters from becoming major headaches.
PRAYER
Dear God, I’m sorry sometimes I rush ahead with my own plans. Now I seek your will & guidance in my life and without your guidance I’ll not even take a step. I surrender everything in to your mighty hands, Amen.
