DAY 46 – GOD WHO DISCIPLINES

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE : Deuteronomy 7-9 chapters

DEVOTION

Deuteronomy 8:5 (NLT) “Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.”

Proverbs 3:11 (NLT) “My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when He corrects you.”

In the story of Jonah, God asked him to go to Nineveh, but instead, he ran toward Tarshish in disobedience. Because of this, Jonah was thrown into the sea and swallowed by a great fish for three days and three nights. Through this experience, God disciplined him and brought him back to His path. In the same way, we also disobey God at times. Yet, in His love, He disciplines us and gives us another chance to take a U-turn and return to Him. Sometimes we may not understand why He corrects us, but we must remember, those whom He loves, He disciplines. So, if you feel God is correcting you today, do not be discouraged. Take that U-turn from where you are and get back onto the path He has prepared and designed for you.

PRAYER

Dear God, thank You for loving me enough to discipline me and guide me back to Your ways. Help me to listen, obey, and walk in Your path. Amen.
