TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: I Samuel 30-31 chapters DEVOTION
The Amalekites raided the Negev, burned Ziklag, and carried away the women, children, and everything else. When David and his men returned, they saw the ruins and wept loudly because their families were gone. In the midst of this tragedy, David’s soldiers began to blame (David) him. They were so angry and distressed that they even talked about killing him.
Instead of thinking about a solution, they focused on blaming someone. But David chose a different response. Instead of blaming or losing hope, he turned to God for strength. In I Samuel 30:6, it says that David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
Sometimes when things go wrong, it is easy for us to blame others. When we fail to do something properly, we may try to shift the blame onto someone else. But blaming does not solve the problem, it only keeps us stuck.
As children of God, we should learn from David. Instead of blaming, we should seek God’s guidance and look for solutions. When we rely on God’s strength, He will help us overcome our challenges.
PRAYER
Dear God, help me to stop blaming others. Instead, help me find my strength in You during every challenge and seek solutions. Amen.
